Call for supporters to help Ipswich become the healthiest community

You too could support a fantastic cause while having fun like Mary, Mikayla and Chris (pictured below who handed out fruit to hungry cyclists at the Ride to Work Day event!

Ipswich local Kim O’Toole has become one of Ipswich Hospital Foundation’s most valuable recruits in their Community Volunteer Program.

Ms O’Toole said her life has been enriched since becoming an IHF Community Volunteer.

“Volunteering adds a different level of structure to my normal routine and of course different people and personalities.”

“I find it good for the mind to focus on other people and making them feel good.

“A day here and there is all that is takes with lots of flexibility to enjoy my other social activities.

“I currently participate in a rostered weekend role at the Ipswich Show Society Caravan Park where I have met some terrific people and heard great stories about their travels!

“IHF offers a variety of volunteer opportunities and if I can help out I do. I’m looking forward to volunteering at the upcoming Ipswich Show, Park2Park, All Things Healthy Expo and Christmas Gift Wrapping,” she said.

Ipswich Hospital Foundation Chief Executive Officer Phil Bell said volunteering for IHF is a really fun and rewarding way to contribute to the community.

“IHF’s Community Volunteer Program offers a range of healthy events and positions for individuals to thrive.

“For instance, IHF’s weekend management of the Ipswich Showgrounds Caravan Park has weekend cover positions available as well as Ipswich Show gate duties.”

“I encourage residents to make a meaningful contribution to your community by volunteering – you won’t regret it!”
